Director of Sustainable Tiverton CIC.
I have lived in Bampton since 2012 and became involved in Sustainable Tiverton in 2019, helping to establish it as a CIC. I'm also an active volunteer in the Share Shop Tiverton project (one of several supported and enabled by Sustainable Tiverton) and have been a Director of the company since it was set up in 2021. I became Chair in 2025.
I believe that the changing climate and the collapse of ecosystems are the greatest challenges that face humanity in this century. It is essential that we in the UK, and other developed nations, recognise that our current ways of living are built on the exploitation and degradation of the natural world on which our existence depends. We need to find newer, more sustainable, ways of life.
Before moving to Devon I worked for over 30 years for a range of organisations concerned to address homelessness and provide good quality, affordable rented housing.
