Sustainable Tiverton supports local people in and around Tiverton to work together to address climate change, resource waste and biodiversity loss through locally based community projects.
Our projects include: a community allotment, the Re-Rooted monthly surplus food cafe, a Community Fridge based in Tiverton library, a community bee keeping group and apple juicing events each autumn. These projects grow or provide food and reduce food waste.
Our Tree Team brings people together each winter to plant trees, and to look after those we have previously planted.
We support the creation of a circular economy through projects that aim to extend the life of everyday household items, and to share the use of such items, and pass them on to others when we have finished with them. These projects include the Tiverton Repair Cafe, Share Shop Tiverton (a library of things), twice yearly Give or Take weeks hosted in a Tiverton pop-up shop, and Repurposingh workshops.
Our Home Energy Action Team (HEAT), through displays in public spaces, encourages people to take simple steps to save energy and reduce heating costs at home.
You can find out more about all of these projects by visiting our EcoHub at 20B Bampton St, TIverton, or on our website. For up to date information, events, etc, subscribe to our email newsletter. You can do this by visiting the website and scrolling to the bottom of any of the pages.
