The Repair Cafe is a project of Sustainable Tiverton, and is open 9:30am to 12:30pm on the second Saturday each month, in Tiverton Library. Members of the public bring in household items needing repair, and a team of volunteer repairers fix them, saving the cost of replacing them, and helping to prevent waste and conserve resources.
We need one or two volunteers at each Repair Cafe session to welcome customers, explain how the repair cafe works, and take down their name and contact details, and the details of the repair needed. You might also be making and offering refreshments to customers who are waiting for a repair to be completed, and yourself and other Repair Cafe volunteers.
We are a friendly bunch, and its a good opportunity to spend a Saturday morning meeting and helping people, and working towards a more sustainable future.
