Save lives by becoming a Water Safety Officer with the RNLI.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea – but our mission goes far beyond lifeboats and lifeguards. Through education, planning, and collaboration, we aim to prevent incidents before they happen. Our Water Safety Officers play a vital role in this mission by helping to reduce preventable deaths and accidents in coastal and inland waterways.
As a Water Safety Officer, you’ll help design and deliver targeted Water Safety and Lifesaving Plans and coordinate water safety activities. You’ll identify “at risk” groups and develop interventions that make a real impact. You'll also lead meetings and represent Water Safety within the lifeboat station’s operations team, as well as working closely with the Area Lifesaving Manager, and the wider Water Safety Team.
This is a rewarding volunteer role for someone who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
If you have knowledge of local water environments, are IT literate, and have supervisory and risk management experience, we’d love to hear from you.
In return, you’ll join a welcoming and inclusive organisation, meet new people, and gain valuable skills and experience. Training will be provided, and reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a passionate team working to save lives.
