You don’t need to get on a boat to help save lives at sea
Whether you're looking to give something back to your community, meet new people, share your local knowledge or develop new skills, this role offers a rewarding way to make a difference. You'll become part of the RNLI team, helping local people and visitors enjoy the coastline safely while building connections and gaining experiences that can be valuable both personally and professionally.
From Plymouth Sound and the River Tamar to the city's busy waterfront, beaches and marinas, the area attracts residents and visitors who enjoy a wide range of activities on and around the water. As a volunteer Water Safety Adviser, you'll help the RNLI share important safety messages with those who live, work and spend time on the water. This could include speaking with local groups, attending community events, supporting safety campaigns, and helping people understand how to stay safe while enjoying our coastline.
This is a flexible opportunity that can fit around your other interests and commitments. You'll receive training and support to help you settle into the role, develop valuable communication and engagement skills, and become part of a wider RNLI team helping to keep people safe around the coast.
