Food in Community's friendly pay what you feel community cafes are held on the first Saturday of the month, with an informal hot lunch served buffet style, with talented local musicians playing in the background and seasonal local flowers adorning the tables. Lunch is served from 12-2 at Totnes United Free Church, Fore Street, Totnes TQ9 5RP. All welcome.
Pay what you can afford for your lunch. Any surplus after we've covered costs helps fund our food box delivery services and other activities for households experiencing hardship. The menu is made by our experienced chefs from largely organic surplus ingredients, generously donated by local farms and food businesses.
We also serve organic tea, filter coffee and cakes. A mug of tea is £1 and we run a pay it forward scheme for drinks and cakes, that you are encouraged to use, either to treat others to a free drink and cake or to have a free drink and cake.
Come with friends or come alone. One of our lovely volunteers will keep you company if you're dining alone and would appreciate that, but if you prefer some alone time, that's fine too. Our dining area and customer toilet is wheelchair accessible. Let our team know if you need assistance.
Just before the lockdown, our cafe customers voted us Observer Food Monthly Ethical Food Project of the Year runner up, beating a number of national organisations. Come and see what we are about!
