We are seeking volunteers to help support our local policing team at our Exeter and Bodmin stations looking after our fleet of police vehicles.
This role involves keeping the vehicles clean and stocked of the necessary policing equipment ensuring they are ready to deploy. Other tasks include performing basic vehicle checks such as checking tyre pressures, fluid levels, ensuring all vehicle lights and sirens work and assisting with transporting vehicles from stations to our vehicle workshops for maintenance. You will also update our vehicle database and report any faults, therefore IT skills will be needed. You will be happy to work outside, have a general interest in looking after vehicles and a desire to help your local police service.
Waterproof clothing and boots are provided
Mileage expenses for personal vehicles will be paid at 45p per mile.
Please note: This role requires a full manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months. A driving licence check will be carried out prior to being interviewed for the position. A declaration and licence check form will be emailed to you if you are successful through the shortlisting stage, and prior to an interview being offered. If the check shows an invalid licence, you will be withdrawn from the recruitment process.
We would not consider applications where the applicant lives more than 25 miles from the base location for this role.
