We are looking for an enthusiastic member of our community to join us as a Local Policing Support Volunteer with the Neighbourhood Policing Team based at Cullompton.This role covers several activities which aim to provide support to the local police personnel.  The Local Policing Support Volunteer role is very versatile and allows volunteers the opportunity to get involved with lots of different activities within Devon & Cornwall Police.

 Tasks may include:

 ·      Creation and distribution of local newsletters.

·       Assisting with updating policing website pages and social media accounts.

·       Assisting with research and supporting local crime prevention activities.

·       Supporting police personnel with administration and office-based tasks.

·       Assist with ordering of supplies.

·       All volunteers are encouraged to support local community engagement and events, as  well as larger events such as the Mid Devon show.

 This role would suit someone who:

 ·       Has excellent communication skills

·        Strong IT skills

·        Is creative

·        Has knowledge of social media and skills in creating posts on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter

·        Works well in a team but can also support independently

 Volunteering provides an opportunity to do something worthwhile with your free time, making a real difference to your local police and to your community.

 Police Support Volunteers undertake roles to support and enhance the day-to-day work undertaken by police officers and staff. By offering their time and energy they help address policing issues, enhance service delivery, and strengthen links between policing and the community.

 Further information regarding the role is available at the informal interview stage. Training and support will be given to the successful volunteer.

 Mileage expenses for personal vehicles will be paid at 45p per mile and applicants should live within a 25 mile radius of the stated location.
