Why we want you
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, they help enhance our patient and visitor experience. You will be volunteering to comfortably transport patients to and from treatments in your own car. Torbay Hospital relies on the co-operation of enrolled owner drivers to ensure that patients are conveyed to and from treatment centres as efficiently and as comfortably as possible.
What you will be doing
- Transporting patients to and from treatment
- Being friendly and understanding towards patients
- Understanding one’s own boundaries and if reached, seek further information and support from the coordinator
- Adhering to policies and protocols held within the Centre
- Treating the patient with dignity and respect, giving due regard to privacy and cultural belief
The skills you need
- Under 69 years of age
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Genuine interest in people
- Positive outlook and being non-judgmental
- Be physically fit
- Own a 5 door Vehicle covered by full comprehensive insurance
