Volunteers are needed to help support the activities Totnes Caring undertakes in Totnes and the surrounding area. We enable people to live independently at home for as long as possible, connecting to their community, reducing social isolation and increasing their health and wellbeing.
We do this by delivering group activities, bringing people together and by providing support information and advice to individuals, the latter primarily through our Wellbeing Connections team of link workers and social prescribers.
We especially and urgently need volunteer drivers to take people over 55 to medical appointments throughout South Devon and bring them to our group activities such as Memory Cafe, Lunch Club and Art Group. To do this, volunteers use their own car or the Totnes Caring minibus, or our Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV)
We also need volunteers to support a range of our group activites, to help individuals by doing and delivering shopping and to help with fundraising events during the year.
