Come and join us on a walk through some of Arlington Court's woodlands to meet and learn more about Holly and Yew. In the spirit of the season we will talk about these native trees - The Holly often being known as 'the old man of the woods', and the Yew with it's connection to the ancient crone and the process of renewal through death and re-birth. We look at the things these woods were used for and some of the folklore that surrounds them. All supported by our walking volunteers.
This walk is also about taking the chance just to chat and enjoy being outdoors as we move into Winter.
Why not finish off with a warming glass of mulled wine and mince pies in the cafe.
1.5 - 3 mile walk depending on who comes, and how long we stop to chat.
Appropriate footwear and clothing is a must. Arlington is generally colder and wetter than our surrounding towns and we will be walking though mud, wet and uneven terrain, and due to the nature of this landscape, it will always involve some hills.
Free entry for the walk and wider estate grounds, just say that you are here for the walk when you go into the Visitor Reception.
Bookable on the Arlington Court website, or just turn up on the day. - 11am start outside the Activity room.
