7 hours per week (usually delivered across scheduled group sessions), with additional hours subject to funding and service need.
Group Facilitator
This is the main part of the job. The duties and responsibilities of group facilitation are as follows:
- Participate in the preparation and planning of group information and activities
- Attend groups particularly the Okey Memory Café, the Okehampton Food Bank and occasionally the Monday Mental Health Hub and the Neurodiverse Parent Support Group
- Work with group members enabling them to feel comfortable and to get the best support from the group
- Promote and model social and emotional literacy, conflict resolution and well-being in all contact with group members
- If appropriate to the group, reinforce the importance of effective positive parenting and a parents’ rights and responsibilities
- Assist in the smooth running of the group including administrative duties
- Maintain accurate and concise records and ensure the requirements of data protection are met
- Assist with measuring outcomes of groups
- Contribute to the review of groups including commenting on the content and skills required to deliver
- Promote safeguarding and robust child and vulnerable adult protection practices
- Follow all the policies and procedures of Community Links SW CIC.
Support Worker
Some of our Group Facilitators also provide support for families and individuals. This option will be offered depending on funding, hours and experience, and training will be given if required.
Core Duties
- Work alongside families and individuals to resolve issues which are affecting their own and their families’ wellbeing.
- Promote and model social and emotional literacy, conflict resolution and wellbeing in all contact with families.
- Reinforce the importance of effective positive parenting and a parents’ rights and responsibilities.
- Promote an understanding of parental influence upon life-long achievement.
- Assist in the smooth running of the service including administration and data collection.
- Maintain accurate and concise case records and ensure the requirements of data protection are met.
- Promote safeguarding and robust child and vulnerable adult protection practices.
- Follow all the policies and procedures of Community Links SW CIC.
Additional Duties where hours allow:
- Support families in Team Around the Family [TAF] meetings where a clear role has been identified.
- Support families to complete EHCPs.
- Complete Request for Additional Service (RfAS) forms to access funding from Early Help to enable support for a family.
