Do you love chatting with people? Enjoy attending varied and exciting events? Or can spare a few hours a month to help us put up posters in your local community?

Then join us as an Events/ Promotions Volunteer.

We have an ever-expanding calendar of events that run throughout the year including county fairs, festivals, and fundraising events.

Role description

As an Events/ Promotions Volunteer, you can join us for a few hours, on a day that suits you, and help us inspire the public about our cause, break the taboo around abuse and help them understand what we do, as well as raising vital funds to help to continue our work.

If you have even less time, then maximise your lunch break or trip to the shops, and instead help us by putting up posters about our events/ services in your local cafes, sports centres and community to help us spread the word.

Your role could include:

  • Attend events with a FearFree member of staff or fellow volunteers to help promote FearFree. This may include local festivals, community events, sporting events, and shopping centres.
  • Assist in setting up and managing pitches, the gazebo stands or displays at events to raise awareness and engage with attendees.
  • Provide support and assistance during fundraising activities at events to help generate vital funds for the charity. Distribute promotional materials/ posters in your community and engage in conversations to increase awareness about domestic abuse issues and FearFree’s services.
  • Assist with bucket collection events by engaging with the public to encourage donations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactivity and adaptability in various event settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Enthusiasm for FearFree’s mission and events.
  • Willingness to engage with diverse audiences in a respectful and empathetic manner.

Desired Skills (Optional):

If you have experience in event coordination, fundraising, or customer service, please highlight these skills during the application process.

Time Commitment:

We appreciate any amount of time you can dedicate, whether it’s assisting at occasional events or committing to regular involvement, depending on your availability and preferences.

Benefits:

  • Fulfilling and meaningful volunteering experience.
  • Support and guidance from FearFree staff.
  • Opportunity to develop valuable event coordination and communication skills.
  • Chance to build meaningful friendships with other dedicated volunteers
  • Reimbursement of agreed out-of-pocket expenses per our policy.
