About

We are a domestic abuse charity, helping people to live their lives free from fear and rebuild their lives domestic abuse.

FearFree is the leading domestic abuse charity in Exeter dedicated to saving and changing lives affected by abuse. It’s horrifying to realise that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men endure abuse in their lifetimes.

We believe that every person and family should live a life free from fear and we are steadfast in our mission to make this possible. Annually, we support over 6,000 adults and children across Exeter and Devon in rebuilding their lives free from fear and abuse. All of our services are free of charge, and we support individuals of all genders, sexualities, backgrounds, and beliefs.

 

A survivor told us: “I think of your service like a lighthouse. We are out at sea on a boat trying to survive and I honestly think we’d have lost our way without you. But at the scariest time when I didn’t know what to do next and how to survive, you put the light on and guided me and my children safely back to shore. I can’t thank you enough.”

 

Our highly professional, and dedicated teams work tirelessly to empower victims to break free from abusive relationships. We also support those who have experienced sexual violence and stalking and provide support to children and young people affected by abuse. Alongside this, we know we cannot reduce instances of abuse unless we tackle harmful behaviours head-on. As such, we run voluntary behaviour change programmes intending to stop abuse!
