Leechwell Garden, in the centre of Totnes, is a beautiful, award-winning community green space, maintained with love by local volunteers. We're looking for new people to join our weekly gardening sessions, held every Tuesday from 12pm to 3pm.
These are relaxed, drop-in sessions—come for all three hours or just as long as you can. You’ll be guided and supported by a professional gardener, making it the perfect opportunity to:
-
Learn new gardening skills
-
Get to know the plants and design of this historic site
-
Meet others in a welcoming, outdoor setting
-
Give back to a space enjoyed by the whole community
No prior experience is needed. You’ll be doing things like planting, weeding, watering, pruning, and learning about ecological gardening practices. Tools are provided—just wear comfy clothes and sturdy shoes.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just curious, we’d love to see you in the garden.
(Whilst our facilitator is DBS checked and we have safeguarding policies in place, we ask that all under 18s are accompanied by a parent or carer. Vunrable adult volunteer applications will be assessed on a case by case basis and may require accompaniment)
