Craft your Christmas with purpose! Workshop bookings are now open for EcoCrafternoon 2025, a festive, eco-conscious event on Saturday 29 November designed to help families, friends, and individuals enjoy a joyful, meaningful, and affordable holiday season—without the waste.
This unique celebration of craft, community, and conscious consumption is brought to life by social enterprise Significant Seams and community sustainability group Sustainable Crediton, and runs from 1–4pm at the Boniface Centre in Crediton, ahead of the town’s Christmas Lights Switch-On. It features stalls, demonstrations and workshops, as well as a Give & Take event for swapping textiels and craft supplies.

“Booking early helps us prepare better for demand and make sure everyone gets the most out of the day,” says Catherine West of Significant Seams. “It also guarantees your spot in the workshops you want.”

“So many winter traditions are rooted in togetherness, creativity, and reflection,” says West. “Crafting allows us to reclaim those values in a really practical and empowering way. It's also just fun—and a great way to connect with others.”
Sustainable Crediton wants to encourage everyone to think differently about the holidays. Swapping instead of buying new, making instead of mass-producing. EcoCrafternoon shows that small shifts can have a big impact—and bring people together.
