Total hours: 22.5–30 hours per week (flexible working, some evenings and weekends)

We are open to discussing the precise number of hours and working pattern to suit the right candidate.

The role:

Last year, we supported over 200 bereaved children and young people across North Devon and Torridge, delivering a combination of one-to-one-support, group activities, and family days. But we want to do more. Our vision is to build grief-informed communities where people feel comfortable talking about bereavement and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support each other.

The Community & Engagement Officer will play a central role in making this happen, strengthening our presence across the region, increasing awareness and understanding of grief, and building meaningful relationships that ensure bereaved children, young people, and families feel seen, supported, and understood.

This hands-on role involves delivering events and training, connecting with with schools and community groups, supporting fundraising activity, and acting as a warm and confident ambassador for FiG.

If you’re organised, emotionally resilient, and passionate about making a real difference locally, we’d love to hear from you. For a full job description and application form please see our website: https://familiesingrief.org/latest-news/job-opportunity-community-engagement-officer
