Devon Air Ambulance needs a whole community of volunteers to keep its 20 charity shops open and our helicopters flying.
The great thing about volunteering in our charity shops is that we have a role to suit everyone, whether you are young or old, an outgoing type or someone who likes to work behind the scenes.
Our shop volunteers undertake lots of different – and varied - tasks, from window dressing and stock sorting, to steaming, labelling and pricing, dealing with customers and using the tills.
Our more social volunteers love helping on the shop floor and engaging with our customers.
Others prefer to beaver away in the background and help with processing our donations and making them ready for the shop floor, such as steaming clothes and sorting bric-a-brac.
We have creative volunteers who enjoy window dressing or producing unique displays. We love our volunteers to tell us if they have a particular interest in any area, as it can be very handy to have someone on the team who can spot an antique vase or a fashion-house label!
With nineteen DAA shops to choose from, volunteering in retail is available to everyone – Locations include Barnstaple Hub & Barnstaple Media, Bideford, Budleigh Salterton, Dartmouth (Vintage), Exeter (Cowick Street, Heavitree and Ebay at Barton Exeter), Exmouth, Honiton, Kingsbridge, Newton Abbot, Okehampton, Plymouth (Armada), Sidmouth, South Molton, Torquay (St Marychurch), Tavistock, Topsham & Topsham Vintage.
If you are interested in helping in one of our charity shops, please pop in and speak to one of our lovely managers or simply fill out an online volunteer application form via our website at Current Volunteer Opportunities
