Have you ever thought about volunteering?

Volunteering is hugely rewarding and allows you to connect to your community and support others by raising important funds. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the people of Devon and help save lives! It’s a great way to give something back to your local community by sparing as little as one hour a week! Tell us what your interests and future aspirations are, and we'll try and match you to the best role for you!

The Trust has 4,200 red collection boxes permanently sited at outlets throughout the county. Last year the total collected, in small change, was over £155,000!

What activities might you be involved in?

Setting up a network in your area is a fantastic way to get out, meet others, and raise awareness of what we do. This is an incredibly flexible way to support us as you can work around your other commitments, calling at your locations when it is convenient to you. As a volunteer you would be given a list of charity collection boxes to empty, bank the contents and replace around two to three times a year. No experience needed - full training and an induction will be provided.

Key volunteer duties are

  • liaise between the outlet and the Charity (Fundraising Team & Volunteer Team)
  • support the fundraising team to find new outlets for collection boxes
  • remove full donation boxes and replaces with empty ones
  • count and bank the contents

What we can offer you?

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, give something back to your community and contribute to a cause you care about, plus

  • develop your confidence and interpersonal skills
  • flexibility to fit with your lifestyle and around other commitments
  • 20% discount on donated goods for volunteers
  • reasonable adjustments to make the role accessible for you

If you are interested in volunteering, please pop in and speak to one of our lovely managers at one of our local shops, or simply fill out an online volunteer application form via our website at Current Volunteer Opportunities
