I run two small and very friendly cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) groups once a week, each lasting for 2 hours. CST is designed for people living with mild to moderate dementia and provides engaging and stimulating activities to work the brain and help delay cognitive decline. Each session is designed around a different theme and works with communication, concentration and thinking skills. It also provides all the wonderful benefits of a social group and in some cases also provides much needed respite for a carer.
CST is recommended by National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) and the Alzheimer's Society and research shows it is one of the best treatments to delay cognitive decline and improve quality of life.
