Would you like to be a Befriender or Volunteer and brighten someone’s day? Do you have an hour a week to spare? If so, Moorland Community Care Group would love to hear from you.
Moorland Community Care Group works with adults across Buckfastleigh, Ashburton and Bovey Tracey who may be feeling isolated or in need of a little extra support. Many of these are older people, some, struggling with reduced mobility. Having a little bit of company each week can make a huge difference. We are always looking for new, friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our team of befrienders and volunteers.
If one-to-one befriending isn’t your thing, there are lots of other ways you can help including, dog walking, shopping, odd jobs, transport, IT mentoring, prescription pickups, help with publicity and admin etc. Everyone has something to offer. We also have a programme of social events for which volunteer help is essential.
As a volunteer with us you would receive ongoing training and have a chance to join in with volunteer and Moorland community activities.
If you are interested, we would be delighted to hear from you.
