Eight miles from town to tide, supporting bereaved families one step at a time.
Sunday 13th September 2026
Barney to Beach is our annual sponsored run from ‘town to tide’ – a scenic route from Barnstaple Pannier Market to Crow Point that’s accessible enough for beginners and walkers while still posing a challenge to more experienced runners. The trail takes participants from the town centre along the famous Tarka Trail, finishing with an epic sprint across the dunes towards the Atlantic Ocean.
Inspired by the ‘City to Surf’ events that take place in Australia, Devon’s own take on these popular community events has raised more than £20,000 for FiG and our friends at Wave Project North Devon over the years.
In 2026, the event takes place on Sunday 13 September and will be a highlight of our 20 Years of Hope campaign, marking 20 years since FiG became a registered charity. The campaign aims to raise £20,000 to support bereaved children and young people across northern Devon.
As we enter our 20th year, we’re aiming to make Barney to Beach bigger and better than ever – and we’d love you to be involved.
