Museum of local social history, potters, artists and creators
At the museum of Barsntaple and North Devon a growing team of volunteers, who together with the staff allow us to open to the public from Monday - Saturday 1000-1630. Our volunteers help in a wide variety of ways from the front of house welcome desk to shop work, tea room assistance, conservation, acccessioning and gallery preparation work. There's lots to keep you busy.
We are looking for People who can help us in our daily tasks of opening to teh public.We are looking for volunteers with a smile, that will turn up in all weathers and welcome visitors into the museum with enthusiasm and warmth, Who are happy to work alone for a while are as a team. There is a wide a range of skills that you all bring to the musuem that can call upon. So if you can offer us a morning, afternoon, midday or all day help, we would love to hear from you.
We are felixable with volunteering hours and requierments. Short term, once a month fortnightly. What every you can offer, come talk to us when you pass the museum next. We realy are a freindly bunch. Call in and ask for Trudy, or email [email protected]
Main Activities:
- Providing a friendly and welcoming experience to all our visitors
- Adhering to housekeeping routines, security, health and safety and emergency procedures
- Assisting the shop lead on stock takes, displays and pricing
- Advising visitors on our programme of exhibitions and events
- Assisting Museum staff with welcoming school bookings and or group visits
- Advising visitors on attractions, places of interests, walks and festivals (training will be provided)
- Promoting and proactively selling our range of local craft and gifts
- Processing shop sales on our EPOS system (electronic till system)
