About

Semi retired, Youth, Community Worker & Research Assistant.

Since graduation I have supported people from marginalised communities in relation to social care, as a result of substance misuse and overlapping complex factors.

I have  identified service and  project  gaps  and experince in project  development. Eg Community Arts project for young unemployed people at risk of homelessness and substance misuse.

Established a recovery cafe for families affected by substance misuse which utilised arts and had counsellors on site.

With the University of Bedfordshire and Luton Hostel partnership I was able to assist in the development of a dedicated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy service for local people with the aim of preventing the revolving door of access to hostels and maintain employment. My main role as a researcher was to facilitate psychometric tests, at three points. during the individuals therapeutic journey. The project outcomes were successful when compared to national IAPT outcomes.

Relocating to Devon has enabled me to volunteer  with national and local charities..
