About

We fund approx.20 young people (16-22yrs) from Devon to attend 14/19 day Outward Bound expeditions.

The Sir Francis Chichester Trust was set up in 1968 as a stand-alone Charity, to commemorate Sir Francis Chichester’s solo circumnavigation of the world in his yacht, Gipsy Moth IV. At his request, the Trust was founded to provide funding for 16-22 year olds from Devon, Plymouth and Torbay to attend an Outward Bound course. Thanks to our generous donors, we’re able to send up to 30 young people every year on this once-in-a-lifetime experience, that will see them achieving more than they ever thought possible.
