The Sir Francis Chichester Trust was set up in 1968 as a stand-alone Charity, to commemorate Sir Francis Chichester’s solo circumnavigation of the world in his yacht, Gipsy Moth IV. At his request, the Trust was founded to provide funding for 16-22 year olds from Devon, Plymouth and Torbay to attend an Outward Bound course.
