I stopped working about a decade ago as I have an illness that reduces my mobility, causes pain and did for a year or more cause aphasia. I volunteer with the ataxia group and read to kids in St Sidwells school on Wednesdays.lt as I am a chatty when I had aphasia it was really difficult as I am naturally a chatty person, and I fount that not being able to communicate fluently and the temptation of others to always finish my speech whether they knew what I was saying or not was extremely frustrating. I had help from a speech therapist and now rarely have any problem with speech. when I worked I was and illustrator, and paper engineer(pop-ups especially), I also worked briefly as a carer for a mother with FA and her daughter. I continue to be friends and the mum is now having her voice banked. as I have experienced speech difficulties, I do not suffer from shyness and am usually described as friendly and kind I would like to help if you felt that I could.
