Hi, my name is Peta and I am the Coordinator of ACT’s Carbon Cutters project. Launched in 2022, this project aims to help communities across Teignbridge find sustainable ways to reduce their carbon footprint.
We have already set up a network of around 13 different community groups and councils where we share ideas and cooperate on initiatives.
Our summer project was a series of workshops on “How to reduce your energy bill”, which we followed up with our first Energy Roadshow.
If you would like to find out how we can work with you in running your own Energy Saving Event or how to join this network please contact [email protected]
Can you cut it as a carbon cutter?
We are keen to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated community based volunteers to become “Carbon Cutters” who will try to help and empower their local communities to reduce their carbon footprint through a variety of fun and interesting projects. You do not need to have any experience, just a passion for the planet and an interest in reaching out to your community.
These projects could include helping people reduce their energy bills, organising a tool and garget borrowing scheme, setting up a clothes swap, or establishing a community larder.
If you would like to sign up and receive our bimonthly newsletter please visit the ACT join page and tick the Carbon Cutters box at the bottom of the sign-up form.
This project has been made possible by the help of various Teignbridge Councillors and Newton Abbot Town Council, and Teign Energy Communities (TECS)
