I work in design and marketing, but am hoping to make a career change into social work in the near future
I am a 34 year old woman living in Torbay looking to build real-world experience in a health and social care setting.
I currently work in marketing, but find the role unfulfilling and am working towards a career change in a social care setting in the near future. Before I take the plunge, I would like to formalise some experience in a voluntary capacity so that I can learn what this kind of position is really like. I am very keen to learn and provide as much support as possible.
While I do work full time, my current role is incredibly flexible and supportive of me building some voluntary work into my days. It's very important to me that I can feel a sense of making a difference through supporting others.
I love meeting new people from all kinds of backgrounds, and have a confident and vibrant personality. I find it very easy to get along with others and am very adaptable/quick to learn.
While my existing work experience in support roles is limited, I grew up as a young carer for my mum and feel I have plenty of empathy, patience and resilience to be useful in a number of roles.
