Surving Abuse Northern Devon

We are an established not-for-profit organisation in North Devon that specialises in sexual violence, trauma and abuse.  We offer free specialist therapeutic support, delivered by qualified and experienced counsellors with a depth of support that is rarely available from other organisations.  We support women and men age 18+ who identify as survivors or victims of sexual violence.    We are also able to support non-offending family members, as we feel this holistic approach is vital in the support of our clients. 

Our five sessional counsellors, both male and female, deliver our service from our premises in Rock Park, Barnstaple, using various approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitisation & Reprocessing), and Single Session Therapy.  We also offer family counselling and support for other non-abusing family members. All our Counsellors are BACP or UKCP registered. Their specialist expertise enables them to connect, listen and look at ways in which they can support their clients, adapting their practice to suit the needs of each individual.  Our weekly peer support group, enables women to develop strength and resilience, supporting one another by forming a new community with shared life experiences. This group is available for those on our waiting list, providing peer support and a solid stepping-stone in their path to recovery.
