I am currently on a secondment with Torbay Council as the Community Development Co-ordinator for the Sustainable Food Partnership (SFP) initiative.  The brief is wide ranging and includes supporting a good food movement; supporting diet related ill health; food insecurity; working with Torbay Food Alliance; growing spaces; enviromental support; working with local businesses and the community.  Contact me if you want to get involved.

Some of the projects I have set up include:

 The Act of Kindness Project:

 Food donation boxes in organisations and businesses across the Bay which support working families, those on low incomes and homeless people who use the local food banks.

Allotments

 A Buddy partnership between the allotments in Torbay and the local food banks. Plus community groups who provide homecooked lunches at affordable prices for thier local community. 'Grow an extra Row' and donate crop supplus  from allotments or if you have a growing space in your garden become a Buddy.  

An allotment in Paignton is working closely with the SFP,  Devon Wild LIfe Trust and other partners including 2 local primary schools who share a plot and are engaged in from 'Seed to Plate' as well as having exciting encounters with wild life who also share the place.  York Road allotment is an exciting innovator.

Stoney Park allotment has kindly offered 2 free allotments for a year with free seeds and loan of tools for those experiencing difficulty with affording fresh produce.

Share a Plate

A brand new inititive where hospitaility can support thier local community.  Customers leave a small money donation which the hospitality venue match and gift a free lunch to someone in food insecurity.

Life Coach

I have completed Life Coach training with the NHS and offer coaching sessions for a range of areas including work, relationships, health, confidence and more.
