About

Project & Support Officer - Exeter City Council

I am very interested in the issues that affect communities and the environment in Devon and the South West as well as how we fit into the wider world. I work hard to ensure I have had a positive impact on my environment and the communities in which I live and work in. Everything has a value and I have enjoyed working to fundraise and raise money, profile and provide benefit to local charitable causes. This is something I did well and find rewarding to do.

I am a highly competent, motivated and enthusiastic person with experience of working as part of a team in a variety of busy office environments. Well-organised and proactive in providing timely, efficient and accurate administrative and project support to office managers and work colleagues. Approachable, well presented and able to establish good working relationships with a range of different people, and possessing a proven ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions to problems.

I have been fortunate to work at a variety of employers that reflect this over the last 26 years in the charity and public sector and have also been a Trustee of the charity Moor Trees from 2005 to 2008 attending the management board of Trustees meetings providing advice on strategic development of the charity, fundraising and communications policies. Moor Trees promotes and participates in the reestablishing of woodland areas on and around Dartmoor.

I also worked as a wildlife education events volunteer from 1998 to 2008, taking school groups camping on nature reserves across Devon including Killerton House. Good communication skills, an ability to work within a team and on my own initiative are all vital skills that I have that ensured the success of these activities.

I would say that I am an excellent communicator good at both listening and talking to others. I am also an approachable and well-rounded individual that is able to adapt well to working in new environments and able to embrace change within those environments. I have a passion for hard work and am committed to working in the charity sector and doing right by my employer and also ensuring I do my best for fellow employees and members of the public too.

I currently work as a Projects and Support Officer for Environmental Health & Community Safety at Exeter City Council. I presently respond to customer enquires on a daily basis over the phone and via emails. Assist in the coordinating promotion and of training courses, manage financial processes and provide administrative support for EH databases.
