Small Group Day Care for Older People

The Filo Project is an award-winning community interest company providing high quality day care for small groups of older people. Our service supports older people across Devon who are socially isolated, many experiencing symptoms associated with moderate dementia, including memory loss.

The day is provided by a Filo host, and is situated in the intimate setting of the host’s own home.  Transport and a home-cooked lunch are provided.  The focus of the day is to provide the opportunity for meaningful social interaction and cognitive stimulation.

Within the supportive environment of the Filo Project, we see people gain confidence becoming revitalised in the process. At a stage of life where many older people find themselves often excluded, The Filo Project provides a time and space where clients can engage in valued and valuable social roles and connectedness.
