About

Support families and carers of individuals with Down's Syndrome and provide activities and social events for them

We are a friendly, supportive group for individuals of all ages who have Down's Syndrome (Trisomy 21), their parents, relatives, friends and carers, and anyone who has an interest in or involvement with this condition. Our aim is to provide support by sharing information and experiences, exchanging advice and ideas, developing opportunities for friendship and social interaction, raising awareness, and organising activities that our families can enjoy together. Membership is free, and all are welcome; our members live/work all over Devon. We are always glad to welcome new members and to offer a listening ear and peer support around diagnosis, early days, education, health issues, benefits, employment and indeed any challenges whenever they occur. Whatever the situation or challenge, we probably have members who are going through, or have been through it, and would be happy to listen and share. We organise activities and events throughout the year for our members and their families/carers. In recent years these have included regular tenpin bowling for our teenagers and adults; our annual summer outing and Christmas party; archery; trekking with alpacas; music-making; spring parties with entertainer.
