Each month, we support around 150 people as they go through the courts in Devon & Cornwall & into life beyond.
We’ve been around since 2005, now based inside the Courts in Exeter, Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Bodmin and Truro.
We give free, confidential, practical help and emotional support for anyone going through court and into life beyond.
People often arrive at court alone, feeling powerless, trapped and terrified.
We are free, and independent of the system.
We sit down and listen.
We build trust and use our knowledge and connections to find solutions to complicated situations.
We guide towards positive change and stay by their side for as long as they want us.
By working with everyone in our community, from magistrates to local services, we divert away from crime, resulting in people living more law-abiding and positive, stable lives, ultimately benefiting everyone across Devon and Cornwall.
Volunteering with CASS+ could well be one of the most enriching and satisfying experiences of your life. We hold the lifetime achievement of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. You will be fully supported with our inhouse wellbeing and training programmes and it’s a wonderful way to meet new people; discover more about our legal system; and increase your job prospects, skills and experience.
