About
Our aim is to create a welcoming space and reduce loneliness by delivering projects that bring people together.
The Woodyard is a unique community initiative rooted in the heart of North Devon and is inspired by the fictional community hub created by Ann Cleeves in her novel, 'The Long Call'. Founded by a collective of charitable organisations and dedicated local stakeholders, The Woodyard was born from a shared vision: to create a welcoming space and deliver projects to bring people together, support mental wellbeing, and strengthen community ties.
Our first initiative is Mindful Mondays which is run on the second and fourth Monday of every month at Castle Chambers Cafe in Barnstaple with the focus on mindful activities, crafting, mindfulness sessions and Reading for Wellbeing.
