IMPACT, the Centre for Post-Collision Research, Innovation and Translation, is a research centre and part of Devon Air Ambulance. The team within IMPACT undertakes research on road traffic collisions (RTCs). Road injury causes many deaths and injuries worldwide. While preventing collisions is
important, learning about and improving care after a crash is crucial to help save lives. The period immediately following an RTC is crucial for initiating the road injury chain of survival and optimising outcomes.

With a focus on research, innovation, and collaboration, IMPACT has the potential to significantly improve outcomes for those affected by road injuries, not only for the people of Devon but also far beyond. By advancing best practices and contributing to global road injury research, we aim to make a lasting difference in post-collision care both locally for the people of Devon but also internationally.
