I began my career in IT as a project manager and then a business consultant helping businesses clarify their strategic purpose and how to stay focussed on this via computing resources and streamlined processes. This career ended when I had a late/unexpected child who has needed extra care ever since. Initially I had a series of home-based self-employed jobs including property development, running a business transfer (sales) franchise, managing an interiors shop, and 5 yeaers as a Parliamentary Case Worker. I also ran a Guest House for 10 years. More recently I have volunteered with several museums and galleries, been a Ranger in a historic park, been a Guide at Guildford Cathedral, an Events facilitator at the Cathedral and at RHS Wisley, and for 8 years was a small groups helper and musician at HMP Send women's prison. My hobbies are as a pianist and singer, including performing on stage in operettas. I am a graphic artist and have produced leaflets etc. for many small charities. I paint and sketch outdoors. I am active and enjoy cycling, kayaking, paddleboarding, walking and yoga/pilates/keep fit.
