As a Volunteer Welcome Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring visitors have a memorable experience from the moment they arrive at Powderham and get the most out of their visit. You will be the friendly face that greets guests, provides them with information about the castle and its attractions, and assists them with any enquiries they may have. You’ll also get to work closely with our wonderful Welcome team, supporting them in providing the warmest welcome for our visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Visitor Welcome: Greet visitors warmly as they arrive at Powderham Castle, providing them with a positive first impression of their experience.
Information Provision: Offer information about the castle, its history, current exhibitions, events, tours, and facilities. Answer questions and provide directions as needed.
Ticketing and Admission: Assist with ticket sales, admissions, and membership enquiries. Ensure visitors have the appropriate tickets for their chosen experiences.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing visitor concerns, and ensuring guests feel valued and appreciated throughout their visit.
Guidance and Direction: Direct visitors to various points of interest within the castle and grounds, including exhibitions, gardens, farm shop, and amenities.
Promotion: Actively promote upcoming events, special exhibitions, and additional attractions to enhance the visitor experience and encourage return visits.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff members to ensure the smooth operation of visitor services and contribute to a positive team environment.
Time Commitment: This role will be running from 11 am to 2 pm every day we are open, so Sunday to Friday, and we will be looking for volunteers who can volunteer for the full session. If you would like to volunteer for this role but would like to volunteer for longer, you are more than welcome to volunteer for the full time we are open but otherwise, we need the volunteers for the allotted time.
