SisterWood is a grassroots charity supporting girls aged 12–16 to build confidence, creativity, and connection through nature-based programmes. Around the fire and in the woods, girls tell us they feel calmer, safe and like they can be themselves...
Our programme blends practical outdoor skills, reflective practices, and group connection, helping young people develop a toolkit for emotional wellbeing and life’s challenges. We work particularly with those facing social or emotional struggles, and are guided by trauma-informed, anti-oppressive values.
We are now in an exciting period of growth, exploring new ideas like our intergenerational ‘Elder Strand’, youth governance, and potential site expansion and youth board and expanding our vision while strengthening our systems, and we are looking for a Treasurer to help us grow sustainably and with care.
Behind the scenes, clear and caring systems and oversight make that possible.
Chair: to bring steady, supportive leadership to the Board, helping shape inclusive, values-led governance and offering strategic encouragement to the Director.
Treasurer: to support our financial clarity and sustainability, keeping things simple and proportionate while working with our accountant and Director.
Trustee: bring perspective and practical support; proportionate oversight of safeguarding/finance (we’ll get you started); contribute where you have energy (e.g. fundraising, comms, HR, policy).
Location: Remote, with one or two in-person gatherings per year
Time commitment: Approx. 2–4 hours a month. We ask for an initial commitment of 1–3
years, with the option to renew. We’re happy to explore what feels realistic for you, especially as we grow.
