We are looking for volunteers to work on our helpline which operates from 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm on Mondays & Wednesdays.
The role includes taking the caller's first name & telephone number so that our emotional support team can call them back & discuss their situation at greater length, thus keeping the helpline open for the next caller.
We also have opportunities to volunteer with our emotional support team. The role includes calling the site user back and asking open questions about their situation, listening to their issues and signposting them to relevant organisations to help them access the best help they can receive.
We have devised scripts for both roles, considering safeguarding, privacy and best practices and outcomes for our helpline users.
