We are a swimming club with around eighty regularly swimming members, mostly children, who train anything between once and six times a week. Some swim simply for fun and fitness; many compete as well. Pool-based sessions are supplemented with land-training for those who want it. We have a wide range of abilities; our aim is to help every swimmer, of whatever standard, to meet their goals while having fun in the process.
We are accredited with Swim England's quality standard for swimming clubs, "Swim Mark"
We are run by volunteers and need more of them! A variety of opportunities are on offer, from charity trustees to help run the club to people to qualify as officials for swimming competitions. You don't need to be a swimmer or to know anything about competitive swimming: training (fully funded by the club) is available for those roles which need it.
The swimmers train mainly at Meadowlands Pool in Tavistock, although a few sessions are held at Mount Kelly. Trustee meetings are held in central Tavistock; most competitions are at Meadowlands and the Life Centre in Plymouth.
More details are on our website under the yellow "Volunteering" button. If you are interested, we'd love to discuss further with you: just send us an email. We pride ourselves on being well-run; with your help we can stay that way.
