The Volunteer Driver scheme was introduced to reduce the demand on police vehicles across the force but has added benefits relating to officer time, efficiency and effectiveness.

The Volunteer Driver will be required to provide transport for a variety of activities. These can include:

  • Transporting officers or items between stations
  • Transporting vehicles between stations and workshops
  • Transporting personnel to appointments

Tasks will be dependent on demand and geographic area and will differ across Devon and Cornwall. Please speak to your local Citizens in Policing Development Officer for further information re tasks for the advertised area.

All volunteers are encouraged to support police personnel with local community engagement and events where possible

Please note: We would not consider applications where the applicant lives more than 25 miles from the base location for this role.
