Support Our Oxygen Therapy (No2 position)
Location: South West MS Centre, Exeter
When: Mon-Friday various times available (minimum one half a day a week volunteering)
The South West MS Centre is a small, independent charity based in Exeter. We support people living with a range of conditions including Multiple Sclerosis (MS), brain injuries, Long Covid, cancer, stroke, and injuries. Through therapies that include physio therapy, exercise classes and oxygen therapy which promote health, wellbeing, and rehabilitation.
We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to operate/ support our oxygen therapy sessions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting operating the oxygen controls
- Helping people get set up in the tank
- Helping members exiting the tank
- Assisting with clear down- cleaning masks, pipes and seating area
- Welcoming members, offer general conversation and check in with members.
- Assisting around the centre and supporting our volunteers and staff team.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need experience in oxygen therapy- we offer all the training:
- A genuine interest in helping people
- A warm, sociable personality (and a good sense of humour!)
- The ability to offer gentle support to adults with different health conditions
- Ability and interest to learn to use the oxygen control panel
- Commitment and reliability- a minimum of one half day a week.
