We are recruiting for multiple adhoc minibus drivers at Slapton Ley Field Centre.
We are looking for someone who likes driving or has some experience in driving larger vehicles than a standard family car, has D1 entitlement on their driving licence, who knows their way around the roads in the local area, is able to relate to students and visiting tutors in a professional and friendly manner.
volunteers must:
- Have D1 entitlement on driving licence
- Be over 21 years old
- Be Willing to undertake Minibus Driving test
- Have an enthusiasm for learning more about Nature Reserves
- Be willing to be called for driving drop off as well as all day excursions
This role gives you:
- An opportunity to help the Field Studies Council, an environmental education charity, and support the local community.
- The chance to visit some breathtaking scenery in the area around the centre and accompany very enthusiastic tutors with superb local knowledge.
- The chance to develop your skills and acquire a Minibus Driving test, which could be used in other fields.
- The chance to meet other volunteers at social events

In relation to employment legislation you will be considered a ‘voluntary’ worker, and as such the role is unpaid. However, you will be reimbursed for any reasonable expenses that you necessarily incur in the carrying out of your voluntary role.
