The role of our Ambassadors is very varied and we are looking for local people to join our team to support our small Fundraising Team across North Devon to help raise awareness of the work the hospice does and to support local fundraising initiatives. Here's a small sample of things you may undertake as a Hospice Ambassador:
- You may attend cheque presentations and thanking people for supporting the hospice.
- You may present talks about the work of the hospice to local community groups and lead school assemblies, talking about the work of the hospice to school pupils to promote hospice campaigns in your local area.
- You may be assisting at major fundraising events like Nightwalk or Mission Unbreakable by marshalling events and generally supporting the Fundraising Team.
There are no set times, it very much depends on your availability and the needs of the hospice, so don't hesitate to get in touch to find out more.
How can you benefit from joining our team? The hospice offers:
- A safe and supportive environment
- An induction & full training and guidance given on all aspects of the role
- You will be part of a dedicated and friendly team
- The opportunity to utilise existing skills or develop and learn new skills
- Continued support throughout your time with us and an opportunity to undertake other roles within the organisation
- Reimbursement of reasonable expenses, agreed in advance
- The opportunity to meet new people
- Regular social events throughout the year to meet other volunteers and staff across the organisation, which is an opportunity for us to thank you for your contribution
- Reward and Recognition Long Service Award for our volunteers
- The knowledge you are directly contributing to the care and support offered to our patients and their families we care for
- Lots of tea and cake at every opportunity!
