We have partnered with the Trussell Trust to deliver Face to Face services across all Northern Devon and West Devon Trussell Trust Foodbanks. We have Advisers available in some of the Foodbank open sessions to offer Advice and Information to those most in need.
We are looking for volunteers to support our Foodbank
Project (foodbanks at Barnstaple, Holsworthy, Ilfracombe & South Molton)
Food bank volunteer – what might you do?
- Attend foodbank sessions to meet clients
- Act as a face for the organisation
- Describe the service to people who haven’t heard of it
- Collect client details to enable our advisors to contact them for appointments
- Enter client details on our client management system

What do you need to have?
You don’t need specific qualifications but Are you….
- Friendly and approachable
- Non-judgmental, able to respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
- Good at listening to others
- Someone with good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to understand information and explain it to others
- Willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies
- Willing to undertake training in your role

How much time do you need to give?
Ideally we ask for at least 1 day per week and this will be dependant upon the days we are present at the foodbanks-this will be confirmed upon expression of interest.
