This award winning film (Best Original Screenplay - Cannes Shorts Film Festival, Nominated Best Short Film - London Shorts Film Festival), brings to life a whole host of colourful characters from Torbay’s Victorian past. William Kitson, Lawrence Palk and the villain of the piece, Bishop Philpott’s all have their part to play in a story that threads together the bread riots, the cholera epidemic and the scandal that divided England’s richest resort. This hour-long feature film is being shown with its companion documentary showing behind the scenes footage and interviews with the cast, who are drawn from the ex-homeless and recovery community of Torbay.
The film was commissioned and funded by the St Mags Heritage Lottery Inspire Project as part of their community engagement.
