Make a real difference to young adults with vision impairment and complex needs.
At InFocus Charity, we believe everyone deserves to live life to the fullest, with choice, control, and meaningful opportunities. We support young people who face multiple barriers due to vision impairment combined with additional disabilities, helping each person move towards their best and most independent life.
We’re now seeking a Volunteer Trustee with strong knowledge and experience in adult social care to help steer this vital work.
What the role involves
As well as the usual responsibilities of a trustee, you’ll take a special interest in our adult care services:
-
St David’s House (residential care)
-
Jigsaw (adult day service)
-
Supported Living
You’ll sit on our Adult Care Advisory Committee, working closely with our Director of Care and Support to scrutinise service quality, champion person-centred care, and offer constructive challenge and guidance.
This role would suit someone with experience such as:
-
Senior leadership in an adult care service
-
Commissioning within the NHS for people with complex care needs
-
Knowledge of CQC regulation (advantageous)
Our Board meets seven times a year. In-person attendance is welcomed, but online participation is possible when needed. Travel expenses are covered, and overnight accommodation can be arranged for those outside Devon.
Short on time? Advisory roles also available
If you’d like to contribute your expertise without the full responsibility of a trustee role, you may be interested in becoming an Advisory Member. Advisory Members sit on our committees and offer specialist insight without the legal duties of a trustee. To learn more, simply email Amanda Gorfin.
