Read Easy UK is a growing national charity providing free, 1-to-1 and confidential help to adults in need of help with reading skills. The growing local Exeter group (expanding into various areas across N, W and E Devon) needs to replace its Treasurer.
The charity transforms the lives of the 2.4m adults in the UK who struggle with reading.
We are looking for a hands-on experienced finance person who will look after our governance, accounts and legal compliance and plan/predict our financial position. You will not need to fund raise - we have a fund raiser in place. You will be part of an excellent, friendly management team of mainly retired professionals from a variety of walks of life and able to influence the strategy for the group as we grow our impact. The Group Team Leader takes overall responsibility for compliance, with the Treasurer providing input on governance and finance.
It's a simple but vital job requiring occasional (on-line) meetings and planning/managing around £5k of spend per year with few transactions (all our people are volunteers). The role typically requires an hour a week. This includes ensuring compliance with the national financial and governance arrangements of Read Easy UK. You will be able to do most of the work from home so we're looking for someone located anywhere in Devon.
