The Torquay Neighbourhood Forum produced the Torquay Neighbourhood Plan which was approved at referendum in 2019. The plan was written by the Community for the Community, shaping development in Torquay, and laying the foundations for a successful future. The plan will help to deliver regeneration that protects and enhances those elements that make Torquay a special place to live and work in.
Join us to find out about how far we have come – our achievements and successes and how we intend to make the Torquay Neighbourhood Plan stronger to ensure that all development will be managed positively for growth while maintaining and enhancing the area’s distinctive character and landscape.
The Torquay Neighbourhood Plan is intended to ensure that the Community truly benefits from the right development, both homes and businesses in the right places whilst giving our most precious green spaces a special level of protection.
Our ambition is to see Torquay as the best place to live in the West Country – a vibrant and well-balanced economic area, with sufficient well-paid jobs and homes that are suitable and affordable for all with a revitalised central area offering quality retail, leisure, homes, and office space.
Join us on Wednesday 29th June at the Riviera International Centre (Burdett Room) from 7 – 8.30 pm to hear from guest speakers and to view and hear updates on projects that are already coming forward such as Torquay Pavilion, the Strand and Harbourside and a forthcoming consultation on the pedestrianisation of Fleet Street. All examples of projects being brought forward and delivered because of the Torquay Neighbourhood Plan written by the Community for the Community.
